Electric vehicles are changing the fireground, and the fire service needs to keep up. Everything EV delivers a practical, no-nonsense overview of EV hazards and response considerations. This course covers lithium-ion batteries, charging systems, thermal runaway, and key differences between EVs and traditional gas-powered vehicles, including weight and construction.
Attendees will also learn how municipal code can support community risk reduction and review current industry best practices for mitigating EV fires.
Designed for firefighters and officers, this class provides the essential knowledge needed to safely and effectively operate in today’s evolving vehicle environment.

Vincent Bettinazzi

Vince Bettinazzi brings nearly two decades of fire service experience to the classroom, serving with the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Fire Department since 2007. Throughout his career, he has held key roles in operations, training, and administration, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both front-line response and organizational leadership.

Bettinazzi holds a bachelor’s degree in health education from Muskingum University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s prestigious Managing Officer Program. He is currently completing the Executive Fire Officer Program and is a credentialed Chief Fire Officer (CFO) through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Vince is an active voice in the fire service community. Since 2019, he has contributed regularly to FireRescue1.com, offering insights on leadership, innovation, and firefighter safety. In 2022, he expanded his reach by co-hosting the “Beyond the Stretch” podcast, where he discusses the evolving challenges and successes of today’s fire service.
