Sean Duffy
Sean Duffy is a dedicated firefighter with 21 years of experience in the field. Born and raised in a small town of New Jersey, Sean knew from a young age that firefighting was his calling. Inspired by his father, who worked in emergency services for 35 years, Sean joined the local volunteer fire department as soon as he turned 18.
Recognizing the importance of passing on knowledge to the next generation, Sean grew a strong passion for training and would later Co found Build Your Culture to share what he and his team have learned during their tenure in the fire service. His training sessions are known for their realism, intensity, and emphasis on critical thinking, making them some of the most sought-after courses in the region.
Sean has authored several articles for Fire Engineering and Firehouse Magazines, co authored the positioned paper “ Removing Two In/Two Out: A Modern Data-Supported Defense of Our Core Mission, and is an author for “The Book of Search” by Firehouse Vigilance. He regularly speaks at conferences across the country and has been both a lecture and hands on presenter at FDIC. In 2024 Sean was appointed to serve as a panel member for the Fire Safety Research Institute’s Multi-Story Residential Tactics Research Project.
His passion for the job and teaching extends beyond the classroom; he actively mentors firefighters both in his own department and across the country, helping them navigate the challenges of the job and develop the skills they need to succeed.
