Water supply operations on the rural fireground present significant challenges for even the most experienced pump operators. Overcoming these obstacles is essential for the success of firefighting operations on scene. This comprehensive course is designed to equip students with field-proven techniques to navigate these challenges while maximizing the flow capabilities of the supply pumper.

In this class, students will be introduced to essential components of rural water supply operations. They will learn methods for safely and efficiently supplying water to the fire scene, ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply during firefighting operations, even in remote locations. The course will cover alternative drafting methods that do not require a primer, allowing for greater flexibility and improved response times.

Students will gain insights into multiple intake drafting operations, which will help increase water flow and efficiency by utilizing various intake points. Additionally, the course will address fill site considerations, teaching students how to set up and manage fill sites to optimize water supply and reduce turnaround times for tanker operations.

Exploration of options for utilizing challenging static bodies of water, such as ponds or lakes, will ensure that students can access and utilize difficult water sources effectively. This course is ideal for both novice and seasoned pump operators seeking to refine their skills and enhance their capabilities in rural firefighting scenarios. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to tackle the unique challenges of rural water supply operations with confidence and efficiency.
