In this course we bridge the gap from military leadership to emergency service leadership with lessons learned and proven battle tactics. Military leadership is defined as the process of influencing others to accomplish the mission by providing purpose, direction, and motivation. Our goal is to apply methodology to fire, police, and EMS agencies to create winning teams! Topics include leadership as a process of influencing people, being a good dude, leader attributes and competencies and much more.
Thomas Tardo
Thomas Tardo is a 17-year Veteran in the Fire Service and currently assigned to Greenville City Fire Department Quint 2 and serves as lieutenant at Tyger River Fire Department. Serving as a Section Leader and HQ Platoon Sergeant in the 2/508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, prepared Thomas for leadership in emergency services. With 2 combat deployments to Afghanistan, Thomas held an additional duty as FOB lightning fire chief where he stood up the fire brigade and was an US Adviser for the 203rd Afghan Corps.
Thomas is the owner / operator of Valkyrie Tactical Solutions, LLC. Thomas currently serves as the President of the SC Society of Fire Service Instructors and Coordinator for the Greenville City 9/11 Memorial Stair climb.
